|Historical||Hebrew inscription says he was 54.
According to the Carl Smith Archives, he operated the The Land We Live In Tavern from 1885 until his death, with the exception of a period in 1890 when he return to Europe. During that time, his nephew, Isydor Silberman, was in charge of the business. He bequeathed half of his estate to his wife, Sarah. The other half was to be divided into five shares for the benefit of relatives in Starsel, Galicia.
Sarah died on March 29, 1901, in Starsel.
