Historical | Lived at Apt. 3, 12 Macdonnell Road. He was a merchant and the (founding?) president of the HK Softball Association in the 1970s. Rob Dorfman wrote on December 2, 2021: “Solomon (“Solly”) was a lifelong bachelor and continued to live in HK until his death. Both Solomon and George worked for Far East Commodities Ltd, a company that was at that time owned by the Kadoories. It was eventually sold to Eric Sampson in South Africa and in the ’80s was run by Les Isaacs, who lived here through the ’80s. He eventually moved to Sydney.” Barbara Harding wrote on July 28, 2017: “The Sauls arrived in HK in the 1950s and had four small boys with the oldest being about my brother’s age, so five years younger than me. Mrs. Saul was the most attractive and kind woman you could imagine. She died quite young and the family left Hong Kong soon after. That was in the 1970s.” In 1959, George lived at 320 Riverside Drive, New York City. |
