Historical	According to a report in the SCMP on February 7, 1918, Sophie was charged with the theft of a gold watch valued then at HK$65 from a Mrs. Lau Chang Ping of 29 Caine Road. Sophie apparently went to Mrs. Lau’s house to ask the woman to buy some lottery tickets in aid of charity. Sophie was let off with severe caution.
