Historical | He was the manager of Gilman’s Office Machines in the late 1960s. He was promoted to general manager of Gilman & Co. on January 1, 1974, and to director on January 1, 1977. Julie died on January 30, 1988 at the Adventist Hospital. Her remains were cremated at Cape Collinson. Her name appears on Australian electoral rolls in 1958 and 1963, living in Willoughby, North Sydney. An Agnes Stempel (b. Oct 27, 1892, Frankfurt; d. Jan 31, 1941, Shanghai) and a Charlotte Sara Stempel (b. Dec 30, 1894, Halle; d. Aug 1, 1940, Shanghai) were both Shanghai refugees. Could they be related? Did Al arrive here as a refugee? |
