Historical	He was an only child. His parents married in Rotterdam on March 19, 1937. They both died in New York City. The family sailed from Southampton to New York on April 8, 1939 using visas issued in Rotterdam on March 11, 1939. Presumably, they were escaping from Europe and the Nazis before the war started.
