Historical | Florence married Frank Isaacson on October 14, 1928. He was the manager of Cort’s Shoe Store in Coshocton, Ohio. The family changed their surname to Isaly in 1943, possibly to try to fit in as there were very few Jews living in the Coshocton area at the time. In probate documents (Lee v. Probate Court, Unpublished Decision (2-13-1998), No. 97-T-0150. (Ohio Ct. App. 1998)), Florence and Orlan (who was then known as Fletcher Orlan Lee) moved to HK just three months before she died. According to the documents, she was supposed to be buried next to her husband in Ohio but, for whatever reason, the children decided to bury her here. In 2001, Fletcher/Orlan was appointed Adjunct Associate Professor in the Law Program at HKUST’s Department of Accounting. The Hebrew year is incorrect. (It says 5746.) |
