Historical	Illeana was from Harbin. She was ten years younger than Samuel. In March 1959, he married Grace Zau. His father was a long-time Shanghai resident, arriving there in the late 1860s or early 1870s. He was originally from Baghdad and was associated with David Sassoon & Co. for many years. His grandmother, Aziza Perry, may have been a Sassoon.
